It is a well known fact that I have not grown up. I still watch cartoons, I have lots of sci-fi toys and stuff. Although these days it forms my ‘collection’ and is neatly presented and not played with. My son however does not like the same things I did as a child and still do now. He hates Star Wars, Star Trek, Superheroes and most things sci-fi. I would love it, if he enjoyed things I loved but he is mainly interested in Minecraft and Five Nights at Freddy’s. This is not too bad as being a geek I like those things too.
One of the programmes I loved when I was growing up was Knight Rider. I loved all the cool shows like A-Team, Street Hawk, Airwolf, Battlestar Galactica and even Automan. They were a huge part of my childhood but sadly there are not any simliar cool programs for kids these days even if there were their focus is divided by tablets and Youtube which did not exist back then.
Anyhoo, We do tend to watch The Goldbergs which my son thinks is very funny and for me it feeds my need to revist the 80’s. The latest one we watched featured the awesome KITT from Knight Rider. That car still looks amazing even though and only a little dated.
After watching The Goldbergs episode my Son said that he would like to watch Knight Rider. Instantly I was filled with joy. I would be able to share something I loved from my childhood with my child. How can this now be good?
Then the doubt gremlins started whispering in ear. I have not seen the show for a very long time and maybe it has not aged well. Maybe by todays standards it will look just childish and crap. If it does my childhood memories will be trashed and my Son will think I watched dumb stuff when I was a kid.
I have found the pilot episode to watch and hopefully we shall do that today. I will let you know how it goes.
